Trip to Washington Day One July 10

We are on a family vacation, touring around Washington and visiting with family. We left on July 9, and arrived in Seattle late that night. The kids did great on the airplane and crashed once we got to the hotel.

July 10: Today is Morgan's 1st Birthday, and we are going to the Seattle Aquarium and hang around for a bit. As everyone knows Cameron absolutely loves any type of animal so when Rich found the aquarium for us to go to Cameron was gung ho about it from the beginning. This is Cameron's 2ND aquarium and by far he loves this one the best so far. It was so awesome having it right on the ocean, they had a room where you could go through and touch tons of live animals and sea plants. We spent a good hour in the room making sure we touched everything at least 10 times. Morgan even enjoyed putting her hands in the nice cold water and touching a few things.

After the aquarium we walked around to the different piers and to Pikes Place. Cameron was insistent on buying an umbrella for this trip and wants to take it everywhere with us, just in case it rains. I sure hope it rains at least one day while we are here for his sake :)and then headed to meet up with Rich's family for dinner.

This is my first time meeting his side of the family and Rich hasn't seen most of them since he was 12 or 13 years old. We met up with everyone at a place called The Warthog, it had great barbecue. We had a great time chatting with everyone and Cameron did a great job entertaining everyone.

The hardest thing to get used to is the evenings. At night it does not get dark until 9:30-10:00 and so keeping the kids on their regular bedtime schedule has been very difficult. But the good thing is since they are going to bed a little later we have been able to enjoy sleeping in.

Thanks for the great photos! I've set the one of Rich & the kids with Jim and Uncle Paul as my wallpaper.
