A weekend with nature

This past weekend we took the kids camping, it was Morgan's first time to go. We went to a place just outside of Payson. We love to camp, Rich and I would go all the time before the kids were born, but have only gone twice, since we have had the kids. We all had so much fun that we will continue to make efforts to get away whenever we can.

Once we arrived at our campsite we started unloading the car and Rich set the tent up and I orgazined the food and such. Once the tent was up the kids were running in and out of it going in circles, I just knew one of them was going to fall over from being so dizzy. Rusty was excited to arrive as well, he loves to camp. Basking in the sun and getting lots of new smells in are his favorite things to do while he camps. Cameron brought his scooter to ride around and had fun going up and down all the hills. Morgan loved walking the dog everywhere, at home I don't let her hold the leash, but she is a natural when it comes to walking Rusty. We also discovered that Morgan was in heaven with all the dirt, I have never seen a dirtier kid. The moment we washed her hands, they went right back in the dirt they went, she maybe a future Trailwalker after all. Needless to say she had a blast.

We tried going on a hike but we didn't get very far at all, the kids were not really up for the adventure, so we headed back to camp and did some more playing in the dirt and waiting for night time so we could make the smores. This was the highlight for Cameron, he thought it was pretty cool being the big brother and making smores for Morgan.

The nights were freezing the temps got down to 33 degrees but we all snuggled together and tried to stay warm. We learned that Morgan will not sleep with a pillow and likes to snuggle far down into the sleeping bag which makes it impossible for me to be covered up because then her head would be covered up, so I did freeze part of the night, but well worth it.

It was a great weekend to get away and spend some time together without all the distractions of life. Cameron starts baseball when we get back so it will be a while before we can take off for the weekend again.

Potty Training...the fun has begun

Well we decided Morgan was ready for the potty training. She will let us know when she is wet and likes to sit on the potty. So today we started letting her pee on the potty and we have gone twice successfully and sat on it several times today. We do have one slight problem, now she does not like wearing her diaper and is taking if off. Today she had already gone poop and took her diaper off, because she was so proud of herself, not the best time to take the old diaper off. Hopefully she will get the hang of things pretty fast. It took us only 1 week to potty train Cameron but he was also 2 1/2 years old.

Cameron and the ducks

Since I can remember Cameron has had an amazing amount of love for animals. It doesn't matter what kind of animal it is he loves it and could watch them for hours. Every time we go to the park he loves to feed the ducks and just sit and watch them. He would go to the zoo every day if he could. Unfortunately with Morgan we don't always get to do that, she would rather jump in then watch the ducks.

These pictures also show how big Cameron is getting, he is turning into such a handsome young man, he is growing so fast..

On Saturday we went over to Freestone and watched the ducks and the kids played for a while and then we rode the train.

Rich's Birthday Present

Rich's birthday is in 13 days and I can't wait to give him his present. I can't reveal what it is because he might read the blog but I have been working on it since January. I am going to finish putting the final touches on it this weekend and have it all ready for his birthday, I hope he loves it as much as I do...

A Fun Filled Weekend

WOW, we had so much fun this weekend. We spent the entire weekend outdoors. With temperatures near the 90's it was way to nice to be inside. We have to soak up all the sunshine before it gets to warm to go outside during the day.

We started Saturday off with a birthday party for Tucker, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TUCK!!! The party was at Tumbleweed Park, which was the best park to play out, we were there for 4 1/2 hours playing and being with friends. The kids played and played, they sang Karaoke, okay only Hayden and Cameron sang but they did a great job entertaining everyone. Who knew Cameron would sing in front of the entire park, I had no idea. I wish I had my video camera to capture it.

Morgan joined in the fun as well by playing on the playground toys and playing ball with Colin, they were so cute together. She thought she was one of the big kids today, she is growing up sooo fast, right before our eyes.

What would a birthday party be without treats, Jody made some cupcake ice cream cones and the kids got to decorate them. As you can see Cameron just loved it, and yes I am a mean mom Morgan had already had enough sweets that day so I did not let her have one, but she didn't miss it at all.

By the end of the day Morgan was pooped and Cameron was eager to get home and build his new Lego toy he got that morning.

On Sunday morning, it was my turn to sleep in so I started my day by getting up at 9:00 which was wonderful sleeping in. We had plans of going to the zoo, my kids' favorite thing to do. So I got our lunches packed and we waited for Aunt Lori to come over and off to the zoo we headed. We never really see many animals with the path we take but the kids have a lot of fun. Cameron has his route all laid out and we pretty much do the same thing each time we go. We eat lunch, check out the ducks, look at a few animals and then get snow cones, which is one of my favorite things to do with Cameron, and then we head home.

With Aunt Lori there we had a little more flexibility on doing some things. I let the kids dig for worms, which Cameron loves to do. Morgan helped out as well. We did find a few worms and Morgan held her first worm. Once we set the worm down Morgan tried to smash it and we knew it was time to move on to the next adventure

After the worms we were off to the petting zoo but first we stopped off to check out the turkey. Morgan was running over to the turkey cage and before I could catch her had her fingers on the wiring and a turkey bit her finger, this scared her quite a bit. She bled a little bit and today it actually looks a little worse, but we called the doctor and she will be fine, no weird turkey diseases or anything. She was a little timid once we got in the petting zoo probably thinking one of the goats was going to bite her. I guess I don't blame her.

After the zoo we headed home and to see what dad was up to, we then decided to go work out in the yard, which very much needed it. We spent about 3 hours working outside and then headed in for the evening. The kids were exhausted and so was I. But we had an awesome fun weekend.
