A blast from the past

Today we decided to do something different with the kids. Instead of going to the zoo or playing at the park we went roller skating. Now it must have been at least 13 years since I have roller skated and Cameron has never gone.

It was a riot from start to finish. From the time they put their skates on until we did the CHA-CHA dance out the end.

The kids did great and it only took them about 45 minuted to catch on and not need to hang on to us any longer. As you can see Cameron is not the most graceful skater and spent the most time mopping up the floor. This morning when he got up for school he had a hard time sitting down because his bottom was hurting.
By the end of the day they all had a pretty good hang of it and enjoyed go in circles without falling down.

We will definetly do this outing again real soon. It will be a great thing to do during the summer months.

Dads and Donuts

Today Cameron had Dads and Donuts at school for breakfast. Cameron was so excited he could hardly wait for today to come. He got up SUPER early, and was dressed and out the door by 7:05 this morning. Why doesn't he do this for me on a daily basis, huh!! He couldn't' wait to take his dad to school and show him off. He was telling Rich where the bathrooms were and it was okay to go if he needed and the water fountains. It was so fun to watch him so excited this morning.

Sorry no pics, I will still in bed when they left.

Cameron and Austin

A few weekends ago Cameron had his friend Austin over for the day and the two were in heaven. I have never heard two people talk so much about Star Wars, nothing else came out of their mouths. They set up their battles and play for a few hours and then we headed over to the Diamondbacks Fan Fest for the day. We went over to Chase Field and got to walk around on the field and check lots of things out. They had stations set up where the kids could hit the ball, throw pitches, run the bases and so on. Of course the boys didn't want to wait in line for anything so we walked around for a while then headed home. The only thing they didn't mind waiting in line for was to play the baseball Wii, and they had just played it at home before coming to the ball park :)

While the boys were playing on the Wii Morgan was busy entertaining herself by spinning in circles and falling on the ground, so easily amused.

They of course didn't mind waiting in line for their tasty ice cream!!! Deciding where to eat the ice cream was even a bigger deal, you could pretty much sit wherever you wanted in the stadium. They chose the very last row buy the ice cream stand, smart boys.

Daddy and Morgan throughout the day having fun

that pretty much calls it a day at the ballpark.

Sleeping arrangements need to change a little

Rich and I have always had a rule the kids do not sleep in bed with us, but as Cameron's has grown older it seems he ventures his way in a few nights a week. Which I actually don't mind because he is a pretty calm sleeper and doesn't move around much. But within the last few weeks for whatever reason Morgan wakes up at 5:30 or a little earlier crying, so I would bring her in our bed so I could get a few more hours of sleep. On Monday Cameron joined us in the middle of the night and then Morgan cried so I went and got her and put her in with us, and not such a good idea. Morgan tosses and turns and likes to sleep sideways, so with 2 kids, 2 adults and a dog in the bed it was a bit crowded. So I got up and went into Morgan's room and slept on the floor, and she soon followed and would only sleep if she could be on my chest. Then on Tuesday night the same story, this time when I went in to soothe Morgan she was standing up holding on to her blanky and ready to get out and come with me. So here we were all snuggled in. But the thing is I am the only one NOT sleeping, everyone else seems to be all cozied in and enjoying themselves and sleeping great. What is up with that. Tonight I am going to be tough and not allow any kids in our bed!!!

The Super Bowl

Last night when we were watching the Super Bowl Cameron asked who was playing, and I told him the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cameron always cheers for the opposite team that we are rooting for. So he started chanting "lets go Steelers" and then he said to me "mom, what are they going to steal" and I said nothing that is the name of the team and explained how they got there name, he said OH, and then ran upstairs to play. A few minutes later he comes back down and starts chanting "go takeaways, go".
