I just love this picture

Sping is in the air, and so is baseball

Love that stance

Cameron started his baseball season on saturday with his first game, and he had a blast. He is playing coach pitch and finds it a little challenging. The rules are pretty good for kids this age. Everyone plays and everyone hits each time at bat. The coach will throw up to 5 pitches and if you haven't hit it yet you get to use the Tee. They run one base at a time and their are no outs. His first game took 1 1/2 hours in the middle of the day. We actually called the game an inning early because the kids were so hot.

Morgan did not enjoy the game so much, she spent the entire time screaming her head off. She was very hot and tired, and to make matters worse I forgot her sun hat and Rich forgot the binky, so we were doomed for the day.

My first digital scrapbook page

I truly do love to scrapbook, but just simply have no time to pull out all the supplies figure out which pictures I am going to use, the layout etc... So when Raygon started posting her super cute pages I looked into it and it seems pretty cool. I bought a program and I got busy. I know its not the best page but we all have to start somewhere.

A lesson in shaving

Being a mom you don't get a whole lot of time to yourself without someone nagging at you. My quiet and alone time is when I am taking a nice relaxing bath (90% of the time). Well tonight happen to be one of those 10% moments while taking a bath. Rich went over to see a friend, Morgan already in bed so Cameron and I stayed up and watched Hairspray, about half way through I decided to go take a bath so when he did go to bed I could get working on my list of things I needed to get done before going to bed. As I am shaving my armpit Cameron walks in and sits down on the toilet and says:
Conversation with Cameron
C: Why are you shaving your arms, I don't see any hair
A: thats the point honey, girls don't want hair under their arms
C: well Zachary and Dylan (his cousins) sure do have a lot of hair under their arms, when will they shave it off?
A: boys don't shave their arms, so they will always have hair there
C: thats disgusting, I am not ever having hair under my arms
C: mom, later when I am older will you teach my how to shave my legs
A: first boys don't shave their legs and second when the time comes dad will teach you how to shave your face
C: duh, I already know how to shave my face
And then he gets up an walks off. I was never expecting that conversation in a million years.

Happy Easter

Easter snuck right up on us this year. We were out of town the week before and did not get home until Saturday afternoon, so needless to say I was a little unprepared for Easter this year.

On Saturday night we did the usual painting of the eggs, Cameron really enjoys coloring his hands instead of the eggs, and Morgan really could care less on what was going on, until you take her egg away from her.

On Sunday morning Cameron got up to see what the Easter Bunny left him, I must admit it was not much, since I was so unprepared. I felt awful, but we still had a great time. We did an easter egg hunt, and had lots of candy, and then off to church we went.

Morgan did not really enjoy getting ready for church but once we got her dressed she seemed to be content. Cameron loves to dress up, so he was no problem at all.

After church we went to get dinner, what did we have you ask, well we went simple this year and had Kentucky Fried Chicken, I know you guys are jealous of our delicious meal :) It was good and it was easy to do the dishes. I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Holiday.

Our trip to Oklahoma

Cameron and Morgan on airplane

I decided to re post about our trip to Oklahoma and Missouri.
The week of March 17-21 I took the kids to Oklahoma and Missouri. Cameron was on Spring Break so we decided to go visit my parents and brother and his family in Missouri. Rich was unable to go with us because he was not on spring break, he had it the week before, so he got a nice quiet week to himself. I wonder what that is like :)
I am sure daddy will miss moments like this

Our trip begins the minute we entered the airport. We are flying to Oklahoma first and spend a few days, and then meet up with my sister. Here we go off on our little vacation, we are going through security and we get the "please follow me ma am". Security continues to do their search, we had 3 carry on bags and they took each item out of the bag and of course I had it packed perfect. During this time I am off to the side having a meltdown, Morgan is crying and Cameron keeps asking the lady "why are you going through my stuff?" We just barely make it to our flight, but once boarded we where on our way. The plane ride was smooth as pie, no problems with either of the kids.
While in Oklahoma we planned on seeing two of my oldest friends, visit the aquarium, eat at Taco Bueno, Coney Islander was in the plan but we just didn't make it their, and anyone else we got to see was a bonus. First we saw my friend Brandy and her family. Brandy and I have been friends since our freshman year in high school and played soccer together when we were younger. She has 3 lovely and well mannered boys, and a wonderful husband. Brandy is my friend I know I could do anything with and it wouldn't matter, we have lots of fun memories.
I am still waiting for her to visit me, hint hint.

Cameron couldn't wait to get to the aquarium, as you all know his love for animals. So we got there just as the doors were opening, thank goodness because it was pouring rain outside and we were SOAKED. We found Nemo and Dory. They had Beavers, Raccoons, Shark Tank, and lots, lots and lots of fish. Camerons favorite thing was getting to touch the Stingrays and Tiger Sharks.

Later that afternoon I met up with Joy Marie. Joy Marie is my longest friend. We have known each other since the 4th Grade, we were not always close friends but as we grew older our friendship grew stronger. Since it was pouring outside we took the kids to the mall to play in the play area,

and then later we went to her house and met Brandy there and we got to chat for a few hours and the kids played with each other. It is always nice to sit down and chat with old friends, and this time we weren't really rushed or in a crowded place. Thank You Joy Marie for letting us come to your house unannounced. The kids played well together for the most part, a few tattles here and there. This was the first time our kids have all been together, so it was neat to see them interact with each other.

And to conclude our time in Oklahoma we saw my Uncle Paul, who picked my sister up at the airport and brought her to the hotel. This was his first time to meet Morgan, and of course he thought she was adorable. Wish we had a little longer time together, but the good news is he will be making a visit to AZ soon

HELP CAMERON LEARN ABOUT YOUR STATE

Dear Friend,

My Pre-K class has been very busing learning about all the states on the map. I am hoping that you will send our class a postcard from your town or city to the following address:

Cameron Chatterton
In Care of Mrs. Flanagan
Noah Webster Basic School
7301 E. Baseline Road
Mesa, AZ 85208

I will share the postcard with my class and mark where it came from on a map. If you want to include a fun package, please do!!! For example, gummy alligators if you're from Florida, Buckeye candy from Ohio, or even gold dust from California.

Thank you for helping us learn more about different places in the world and for helping us with this fun project.

Love,

Cameron

Cameron

We are just 2 months shy of Cameron's 5th birthday, I can't believe how fast time has gone by. It just seems like yesterday he was learning to walk, and today he can spell his name and basic words. We signed up for T-ball this weekend, this will be his 3rd season of t-ball and then in May he will move to coach pitch for the summer. Cameron has also shown interest in wanting to try Karate so we are trying to find a good place for him to go. I want to make sure he is serious about Karate before we make this investment, for it can get very expensive not to mention the time committment. School is going great. He is such a smart and amazing little guy. Every day he amazes me in some new way. On saturday night he sat down and read his first story to me. It was so awesome listening to him read, he actually knew what the words were and if he missed one. He is always asking lots and lots of questions. Most of the time Rich and I can't answer and have to get back with him. His latest questions are about Jesus and why he died for us, and what does God look like, and will he ever see his Aunt Hattie again or will she be in heaven for ever. These are just a few of them, the boy just comes up with them out of the blue. Luckily he will be started RE (Religious Education) in August, this will help us answer his many questions.
His current favorite movie is Hairspray, and yes he knows every song by heart along with the dance moves, and I catch him looking at himself in the mirror because he thinks he is Link.

Today was like Christmas

Being an adult you wouldn't think we get too excited to receive a package in the mail or just can't wait to get one in the mail. Rich and I ordered new laptops and I got mine today but his didn't arrive and should be here tomorrow. It was so exciting to open and see how beautiful it looks before you start downloading it with all sorts of things. The best thing about the laptop is it comes with a 10 key pad just like a regular keyboard. This feature is one of the reasons I fell in love with this machine. It will be so nice to have it attached to my computer versus me always having to make sure I bring it home each night and don't forget the wireless adapter.
Rich can't wait to get his, we pretty much have the same machine now, his comes with a camera built in so that is pretty cool. If you have a camera on your computer let us know and we can chat that way. Of course the downside of new laptops is the transferring data to the new one, but I look at it like I am moving. It is a good time to clean it up and get rid of all the junk I don't need or use anymore.

FUN AT THE ZOO

Cameron just couldn't wait to take Grandpa to the zoo and show him the animals. It was a nice beautiful sunny day to see the animals. For the most part all the animals were out and about so we could see them. I must admit we did skip half of the zoo, the part we skipped had the petting zoo, and wanted to avoid that at all cost with Morgan, not ready to expose her to the animals just yet. Camerons favorite parts this time was a new exhibit they just opened up that weekend on frogs, and then of course he saves the best for last, stingrays and sharks. I think he would spend all day playing with the stingrays if we would let him. Morgan enjoyed being in the sunshine, we did forget her hat so she got some extra sun.

Happy 1st Birthday Tucker

On Sunday we went to a birthday party for Tucker. The party was at a park in their neighborhood and the weather was absolutely beautiful, nice 75 degrees of sunshine. The kids had a blast running around on the green belt and playing soccer and T-ball. The most fun had to be the pinata, every birthday party we go to there seems to the endless line of hitting the pinata, this one was no different. But the kids have a blast and it keeps them occupied for a while. While I hung out with Cameron and his friends, Grandpa looked at for Morgan.
