We love Thunderstorms
The last few nights have been an amazing light show and lots of thunderous roars, the kids just love it. Every time it thunders Morgan gets this surprise look on her face and then starts laughing.
Rusty on the other hand can't get close enough to you nor will he leave your side for a second. I was giving Cameron a bath during the storm and Rusty was trying to jump in the bathtub with Cameron.
As the storm continues on Rusty seems to get more nervous. Once we put the kids to bed, Rusty sits outside there bedroom doors until we let him in and he goes into their rooms walk around and makes sure they are safe and asleep then he comes back into our bedroom.
Here are a few pics of the kids messing around in the bathtub.

Morgan's First Word
Tonight as we were getting ready to brush teeth I was talking to Morgan and she said her first word, she said "Hi" YEA YEA!!! Of course she babbles da-da all the time, but not ma-ma yet but Rich promises me they work on it everyday while driving around in the car. Her voice sounded so sweet.

Faith, Spirituality, and Religion
I always grew up thinking that faith, spirituality and religion meant the same thing. If you have faith, you must have spirituality and religion, how can you have one but not the others. I was raised Catholic, attended Parochial Schools, church every Sunday, received my all my sacraments, religion class everyday. The minute I moved out of my parents house and on my own I quit attending church, and soon lost my faith and spirituality. Religion was always forced on me and never taught to me, church is something I have never enjoyed. I knew once I got married I would start attending church again but to my amazement I married a person who does not believe in organized religion, but believes heavily in faith and spirituality. So then I told my self as soon as we have children we will go to church. Our children are baptized Catholic, mainly for the sake of my mother. We don't attend church on a regular basis now that we have children. I have struggled with this from the day our son was born, but never knew what to do about it, how could I leave my Catholic Religion in what I was raised, this is all I knew. Go against how I was raised, leave that special bond that my dad and I have, we were baptized Catholic at the same time, not that I remember I was only 3 months old.
I guess you could say I am lost, I am not sure about my faith, what I believe or how to go about teaching our children about our Heavenly Father. But over the last few weeks I have come to learn that our higher power, or as we see God himself not only happens in a church. This is where I am learning about my own spirituality, and faith in my higher power. So its taken me 14 years to come to the realization that it is okay to move on and choose what best works for me and our family. For the last few weeks we have been attending a non-denominational church and it is fun, and I enjoy going. Cameron loves going to the classes and learning about God, he is always asking when he gets to go back. On Sunday he will say are we going to your church mom or the one I like to go too.

113 Degrees outside and we decide to visit the zoo
So we must be crazy or something. On Saturday morning we decided we would go to the zoo for a few hours, now remind you it was only 100-103 during the week which is cool, and I thought Saturday would be the same. As I am driving the kids to the zoo the guy on the radio says it is going to be a hot one, a high of 113 and then I thought okay this trip won't last long.
We get to the zoo and Cameron thinks it is a good idea to take our Safari Wagon instead of the stroller and I agreed, but once we got there and I had to pull around70 pounds I was starting to think that this is not a smart idea.
As we set off on our way to visit the animals we were beginning to think our zoo trip was a bad idea. This is the first time I have ever been to the zoo and not see a single animal, no zebras, elephants, bears, monkeys, wolves, even the birds were tucked away up in their trees. It was like a ghost town.
Cameron pondering about where the animals have gone
After we ate lunch I said this is enough walking around in the heat and decided to let the kids play in the water. They have a little splash park at the zoo, which the kids have never played in before. So we headed our way over there, and the kids stripped down (no swimsuits) and off they played. They played for a little over an hour and had a great time.
After that little adventure, I promised Cameron a sno cone so we headed up a huge hill to get the sno cone, and come to find out the place wasn't open. Here we are dying of a heat stroke and I asked the guy where we can buy a sno cone and he says we moved them up in the front by the entrance, just where we came from. Off we trucked to the entrance to get our sno cones. This hit the spot and Morgan even enjoyed her first taste of a sno cone. Cameron and I always get Cherry Sno Cones when we come to the zoo, it is our little tradition.
Morgan got a little upset when the sno cone was all gone!!

Cameron's 1st Day of Kindergarten
This morning the alarm goes off at 6:45 and out of bed we jumped, some more eager than others. Cameron was so excited about school today. Once we had breakfast and packed his lunch we were out the door by 7:30. Morgan was not happy that brother was going off to school, she cried as we were shutting the door behind us. On the way to school Cameron was talking about what he was going to play on the playground and that he was a little scared. Once we got there and he was out on the playground playing he was just fine.
Cameron's serious school face
Having a little fun
Couldn't wait to get to the playground
He chose to do Rec for his after school activity. They learn how to play different sports and today they started with soccer, he had a blast. He said his favorite thing about school was the whole day, and he would be okay to walk in all by himself tomorrow and I could drop him off with the big kids!!!
He is so grown up!!!!

Morgan's 1st haircut
On Friday night we went to my sisters to get Cameron's haircut for school on Monday and so we decided Morgan needed a trim.
She sat right up in the chair and let Aunt Lori do her thing.
Her favorite part was when Aunt Lori gave her a lollipop for being such a big girl.
We took some of her hair and put it in a little frame for a keepsake.
Aunt Lori was also able to put Morgans hair in a braid for the first time

A day at the beach
On Sunday morning we got up and headed back to Legoland for a few hours to finish up some fun and then we headed to the beach.
I could actually live on the beach if I could, this is my most favorite place to visit. It just seems to make everything go away. This was Morgan's second trip to the beach this summer, but only the first time she was able to play in the sand and water. She took to it just like her brother, who seems to be part fish. Cameron loves the ocean and playing in the waves. Both of the kids have no fear of water or the waves, Morgan was running out as far as we would let her and then the wave would go right over her and she would laugh so hard. Cameron loves to jump into the waves, there were a few times when he went under with the wave and then suddenly would pop up, at one time Rich thought he would have to drop the really nice camera and go in and save Cameron, but luckily he popped back up :)
We returned to the beach on Monday morning for a few hours before heading home. Cameron and Morgan were not happy about leaving, but all good things must come to an end.
It was a great way to end our summer vacation and before Cameron starts kindergarten
