A Newborn's Conversation with God

A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?' God said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.'

The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.' God said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy.'

Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?' God said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.'
'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?' God said, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.'

'Who will protect me?' God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.'

'But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.' God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.'

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.'

God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'

Morgan's Baptism

Today Morgan was baptized at Holy Cross Catholic Church. It was a beautiful day and it couldn't have been any more perfect. The weather was perfect, both sides of our families were able to attend the baptism. My sister and her husband are Morgan's Godparents, they are Cameron's Godparents as well. My mom and dad were able to join us in the celebration, and Rich's dad and his wife were able to be there as well.

Our Little Graduate

Walking to school on his first day of Pre-K

Hannah and Cameron first day of school

It was just nine short months ago that Cameron embarked on a new adventure in life. He walked through his new classroom and greeted Mrs. Flanagan his Pre-K teacher. He was excited to meet his new friends, learn how to write his name, and learn all about numbers (he gets that from his mom).

Sitting in the library on his first day of school

Not sure if I am going to like this or not

As the months passed on, Cameron improved greatly in his studies, but the best part was watching his character grow and how much he has changed and grown up. The little things that seemed so challenging for him last fall, he comes by easily now, but not without lots of practice and hard work. Cameron walks around the house saying his phonics sounds and points out to me when I am writing when I make my numbers or letters incorrectly. I will miss how every day when I would pick him up from school he would run up to me and give me big hugs on his good days, and I could always tell if he had his card pulled that day because he would just continue what he was doing and the other kids would run up to me and tell me if Cameron got in trouble that day or not. Needless to say we had more of those days then I wished, but he comes by it naturally. We have made lots of new friends, learned all kinds of things this year. But all good things must come to an end. This means their graduation of Pre-K.

The kids got all dressed up aand wore their hats and walked up on stage. They had lots of fun things planned. The kids sang a really funny song, and then we played "I am not smarter than a pre-k student" the teachers picked parents and their child and asked one question. Rich got to be the lucky one and go up on stage with Cameron, and their question was "what state is north of AZ" Cameron rang the buzzer before she could finish, and the answer is UTAH. I think they were prepped, and then Rich had to announce to everyone that he was not as smart as his little guy :)

After the game came the diplomas. They called each name and the kids walked across stage to pick it up

Congratulations Cameron, we are so proud of you!!!

A Nice Sunday Afternoon

I think Sunday is my favorite day of the week. It is like a new beginning each week. You set new goals, you have great hopes for the week ahead. But most of all we usually spend the day with family. This past Sunday we went over to Rich's dads for dinner and a swim and we had a great time. Gaby cooked us a wonderful meal, and it was delicious as usual. Before we ate we took a little dip in the pool. This was our first swim of the summer and it was Morgan's first time in the pool. Cameron is like a fish in water, he just loves to swim and he is getting better and better each year. It seems the first of the summer he always likes to wear his swimmies for reassurance. Morgan loved the water as well. She was kicking her feet and splashing her arms. She wanted to float on her back and put her head in the water. She has a little sunshade crab that she likes to float in.

What would a day at the pool be like with out water guns. Cameron got a few waterguns for his birthday and they work great.

Have a great week

Let the party begin!!

Today we had Cameron's birthday party, and man was it hot outside. We rented a waterslide for the backyard so the kids went up and down the waterslide for a few hours, they were not interested in playing games. I guess they were having too much fun going down the slide.

Every once in a while they would play with the bubble wands or swing on the swing set.

What would a party be without cake and ice cream.

All the kids seem to get along really well with each other. I love to watch the kids interact with each other and listen to the things they come up with. They have the best imaginations. I got to get to know some of the moms from Cameron's class at school, which is nice because there are about 5 boys that seem to get along really well and they will be in school together until 6th grade. Cameron's theme was Hot Wheels and he got tons of hot wheels stuff for his birthday. Good thing the boy loves to play with cars.

I want to say a special thanks to my sister all of this would have not been possible without her. She came over this afternoon and prepared the food and took care of everything during the party. Thanks alot Lori, I love ya!!!

After the party Cameron was pretty tuckered out. Thank you to everyone for coming and all the wonderful gifts Cameron received. Until next year...

What a cutie!!!

Just some pictures of Morgan while I am trying to fold the laundry.

The Birthday Boy

WOW, what an exciting day Cameron had. He started his day off at about 6:30 this morning waking up and wanting to open presents right away. We let him open up his presents before school and then we told him since it was his day he gets to make all the decisions. For breakfast he wanted the usual cereal, we offered pancakes, waffles. Later in the day Rich and I went to his class for the afternoon and took cupcakes and balloons. The kids were very excited for us to be there and they loved the balloons. Unfortunately we couldn't hand out the balloons like we had planned, apparently they have a no balloons policy, it disrupts the classes. We had to take them with us, now Cameron has 17 balloons to pop and torture his sister with. After school Cameron wanted to rent a movie and order pizza, and eat it in the living room on his Dinosaur TV tray. So we rented Underdog and ate pizza. By the end of the day he was pretty tuckerd out, he even went to bed without stories, he said he was just too tired.

HAPPY BIRHTDAY CAMERON!!!

Happy Birthday to my sweet little boy

Each time I see your smiling face I simply remember how blessed we are to have you as our son. I remember the day we found out we were going to have a baby, we were somewhat shocked but very excited, and then to find out we were having a boy was even better. Dad and I started picking out names and we agreed on Cameron right away, there were really no questions. We couldn’t wait to meet you and see your tiny fingers, and your tiny toes. Apparently you couldn’t wait either because you decided to come 3 weeks early to meet daddy and I. Once we brought you home from the hospital it all became a reality and before we knew it life settled into routines, play dates, bedtime stories, lots of I love you, hugs and kisses. We wouldn’t trade it for anything else in the world.
You are an amazing little guy. I love the fact that you wake up each morning with a smile on your face and you’re ready to start the day with a ball of energy. Your personality is one of a kind, and you have a way of always making me laugh, especially when I am getting onto you for something. You have been an easy going kid making this parenting thing seem pretty easy. You are beginning to show your independence, and you don’t even mind throwing in your opinion now and then.

I am excited to see what the future holds for you. I know that no matter what you do you will be a success.
I love you,
Mom

Baseball Game

Yesterday we went to the Diamondbacks baseball game to kick off Cameron's birthday week. Going to the game for Cameron wasn't a big deal because we go all the time but the thing that made this time so much more special was that he got to bring a friend. This is the first time we have taken Cameron and a friend someplace (without their parents) and so it was a special treat for the both of them. Cameron chose his friend Colin to come with us and they had so much fun. On the way to the game they watched Star Wars and talked a mile a minute with each other. Once we got to the game the kids did great. We of course stopped off to get some souvenirs and we then made it to our seats. The boys sat in their seats the whole time and behaved very well. They were cheering loud and of course routing for the other team, Cameron always roots for the opposite team Rich and I are rooting for. The Diamondbacks were playing the New York Mets, which Cameron kept calling them the New York Mittens.
During the game Cameron really enjoys watching Baxter the Bobcat, the mascot. They kept asking when would Baxter come and see them. Are seats that we have are in the 12th row just behind the first base dugout, so Baxter gets up their and dances and does funny things. So finally here comes Baxter to give the boys high fives and before I knew it I had two boys behind me and ready to jump in my lap. For whatever reason they didn't want to see Baxter and for the rest of the game they kept saying, its not fair Baxter never comes to see us.

And of course Morgan had a wonderful time. This was her first diamondbacks game, and she loved it. She wore her little diamondbacks outfit and then we bought her a fun little hat at the game.

The boys made it until the middle of the 8th inning and then wanted to run the bases after the game. We got in line but after a little while Rich and I convinced them to do it on another day. We were all tired and it was a long day. Thank you to Colin who went with us and made Cameron's kick off to his birthday week fabulous.

HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY WEEK TO CAMERON

I meant to post this last night. This week is Cameron's birthday week. His actual birthday is tomorrow, but we are celebrating the whole week. We have lots of fun things planned for him. On Sunday we went to the baseball game, tonight he gets to pick movie and dinner at home, and tomorrow for his birthday we are taking pizza and fruit salad to school for his classmates, and tomorrow night he will pick the restaurant we go to for dinner. Then on Saturday we have his birthday party.
